Naughty has quite the story. A very dear friend of mine came with her daughter's 4-H club to tour our farm and fell head over heels in love with Juliet, our token Nigerian at the time. She asked me to help her find a couple to purchase, so I did. Ken F. Eytchison of Odeon Ranch, helped me place her with a set of starter animals, so I went and payed for them, picked them up and took them to Jodie. Unfortunately, a year later, Jodie was diagnosed with lung cancer that quickly metastasized to her brain. Since I still had partial ownership in Naughty, Jodie's daughter and I worked out our arrangement and we are so glad that we did!
Jodie did a great job raising Naughty! He is a huge buck with amazing capacity and the most incredible width that I've ever seen! He went 5xGCH, 1xRES, 5xBOB, and 1xBBIS!!! All of this in just 2008! We can't wait to see the high and wide udders that we are sure to get from him! His kids will be freshening in 2009!

Dynamite is just an AMAZING buck!!! He is so strong and so powerful, and is long and level throughout with amazing depth, all the while maintaining his dairy character. His only doe kid to be retained this year, Jolie, had quite the year going 4xRES GCH and 2xGCH just as a Junior doe! She definitely has tons of potential and we will be freshening her out as a yearling milker in the spring of 2009!

If you asked us who Athena was here at Dreamhigh, we would point to a LaMancha yearling milker. This "Athena" is known as Juliet here. She was the farm mascot for a very long time and has become a farm-favorite to anyone that ever visits. Delivering triplets in 2007 and quads in 2008, it shouldn't take long to grow our Nigerian population. Since our fences are geared for standard-size dairy goats, the Nigerians pretty much have the run of the place until they are yearlings, much to Brian's dismay.
Juliet has earned one Reserve GCH to her credit at the ISDGA show in May, 2007. She was also the winner of the Jodie Nelson Memorial Award for Best Nigerian Doe In Show at the Canyon County Fair in July of 2007. We look forward to a long and successful future for her in the show ring.
Update: Juliet has been diagnosed with a form of Lymphoma, so depending on her flare-ups, it is unknown when she will be able to attend shows. She is looking very well right now and is handling it better then she did through the spring, so we are hoping to take her out again in July and August.

Jolie was the 2nd born of a set of quads this year. While not instantly the favorite, mainly because of her ordinary coloring, she quickly grew on us. Somehow when you only have a few Nigies, they are always the "babies," probably because of their size. We couldn't be prouder of how she did this year, going 6x1st, 2xGCH, and 4xRES GCH, just as a baby!!! We really feel that Jolie has a bright future ahead of her and can't wait for her to freshen in the spring of 2009!
